Another milestone in the healing of a grade 6 Tibial Plateau Fracture — today I did my first off-road ride since breaking my leg 6 months ago. We chose a favorite place — Yankee Jim Road just north of Sacramento off the I-80. It was a perfect choice for my dirt debut. The sky was overcast but the temperature was warm and all went well. Yankee Jim Road is a fun off-road ride for both the novice and expert dual sport rider plus it is well suited for motorcycles of any size. Hello Lee, thanks for posting. Hang in there, it gets better and better with time. I am well over 6 months out and feel like I haven’t peaked yet. I am riding with a POD K4 motocross brace. I think of it as part of the ATGATT rule that has saved my life in the past. I removed the knee pad that comes with the KLIM suit and wear the K4 all the time on my right knee. I found mobility is better when I wear the brace on the outside of my suit. The K4 is very adjustable and I can fit it easily even when I am wearing my winter base layer. When worn under the KLIM, I found the suit barely fit over the brace and it restricted my flexion to wear it that way. When I am riding, I don’t even notice it is there. I do hate all the time required for gearing up. But, I hated that even before I added the brace.
